ID CAMP: August 23rd-27th.


This camp is the most amazing thing that has happened to my life.
This camp was awesome. It changed my life.
Please read this completely if you have time, thank you.

Day 1:
Get off the bus and get signed in, grab your bracelet that says "ID: KNOWN BY LOVE"
Go pick up your bag and go to your cabin, number 24.
Unpack your stuff, and put on your bed sheets.
Then say hi to your cabin mates.
Then I had to go to lunch, which was the best food ever.
I had to rehearse a verse, but memorize it.
"Do not love the world, nor the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him." 1 John 2:15

Then after lunch we had the activity of the day, which was a course.
The first course I went to was to lift up one of your cabin buddies, and make him eat an apple with whipped cream with his mouth, no hands. It was hanging off of a string too.
It was hilarious. I laughed most of the way cuz the guy had his faced completely covered in cream. Then we went to another little activity where the whole group has to lift a bucket of water with their feet making sure no water spills. TEAMWORK!
We did that the fastest. Then we went to another course. This course is where we all hold hands and get together as close as possible. A ball is put on our heads and we have to score the ball in a hoop. Also very funny. If the ball falls off. We have to pick it up again, not using our hands.

After that we went for a course that almost killed me. First thing is first. I am not buoyant, meaning I have to do 4 times the normal persons strength to swim. So basically. I SUCK AT SWIMMING. Anyways, my group had to get into two canoes. 3 people in each. And we had to swim to the other end of the lake and back. So, guys are heavier than the chicks meaning the boat was sinking. But we managed to get to the other side, now we had to get back. The boat flipped, somehow. I fell in the water, in panic. I used all of my strength to grab the canoe before I sank. And I remember the first thing I thought was.
God, if this is the end of my life, let it be. I sucked in huge breaths of water and finally made it on the canoe. But before that, I was trying to get on the canoe but it kept flipping and hitting me in the face, so now I have many, many bruises on my face. So far 2 of em went away. I managed to get on the boat and canoe myself back. I was lucky.
Buoyant people do NOT float, meaning that If I were to get water in my lungs and get unconscious, I would sink, and sink down. Not float up.

Then after that we had to go to an activity that was for the girls, they had to grab a ping pong ball out of disgusting water using their feet. They eventually did it and we went to the best and final course. Truck pulling.

My whole group pulled the truck like crazy. We practically ran at least 30 meters. Don't believe me? Who cares, I had the experience and it was fun!
I'll only anounce my first day for now. I have no time.

Then we had the sermon. It had an intro on loving.
It was amazing! It was on what not to love. I realized that I loved the wrong things.
Mostly myself.
